How long will it take for help to reach me in the event of an emergency?
ER24 promises that, from the time the call is made, help and support is on the way. We commit to doing everything humanly possible to get you realhelprealfast. ER24, by virtue of the number and geographical spread of the partners (hospitals, service providers, etc) involved, will be able to render physical assistance in a short time. ER24 offers realhelprealfast because we have suitable facilities around the country and work with a national grouping of service partners.
Who will assist me in the event of an emergency?
Assistance is provided by the nearest appropriate service provider - ie you will not have to wait for an ambulance to come from a distant, central location. We will dispatch the service nearest to you/the scene of the emergency. We will also send the appropriate rescue service - one that is equipped to deal with your emergency.
Will I always be taken to an ER24 hospital, in the event of an emergency?
In all critical life-threatening situations, the patient is taken to the nearest appropriate hospital. It could be an ER24 hospital, State or Independent hospital. (The likelihood of it being an ER24 hospital is high, considering the geographical spread of the hospital network).
Should it happen that I am taken to a non-ER24 hospital, will I be moved from that hospital while I am in a critical condition, once it is discovered that I am an ER24 member?
ER24 takes all patients to the nearest most appropriate hospital. Patients are only moved from hospitals if the hospital is not equipped to handle the specific needs of the patient. All patient transfers are performed in close liaison with the patient’s attending physician.
What happens if I am not an ER24 member, but I call the emergency number and am provided with emergency medical care under the ER24 umbrella?
Should you call the ER24 emergency number whether you are a member of ER24 or not, you will receive realhelprealfast. The costs associated with the response will be billed to the patient's healthcare funder if applicable. In cases where the patient is unable to fund private healthcare the patient will be taken to a Government hospital. In cases where the patient’s condition requires emergency stabilisation, the patient is taken to the nearest most appropriate hospital and only once the patient is no longer in immediate danger of dying from his/her acute injuries and a bed is available for him/her is the patient transferred to a State facility.
