IDme connects you to fast medical help via your cell phone in the event of an emergency. IDme is a cell phone based, voice-free panic button system that allows the activation of a panic button in an emergency. On activation, the panic button will initiate a response by ER24 Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
The service is powered by technology from South Africa’s leading provider of GSM location-based services, Cellfind, a subsidiary of Blue Label Telecoms. IDme turns your cell phone into a panic button that links you to ER24’s Contact Centre when you hit a speed dial number. Your location will be traced by means of a triangulation using cellular towers. An operator will contact you to determine what assistance you need so the necessary help can be dispatched.
