Do you trust your child’s school to handle an emergency? It should be using the ER24 Scholar Care Programme.

Playground scrapes are an unavoidable part of being a child. But what would happen if your child were to get severely injured at school and need emergency care? ER24’s Scholar Care Programme is designed to keep kids safe and give parents peace of mind.

What is the Scholar Care Programme?

It’s designed specifically for child safety, providing pre-hospital medical assistance and transportation to hospital if necessary. The programme applies at school, on the way to school, or within reason, on school excursions. Mokgadi Maponya, a sales consultant for the Scholar Care Programme, says the service is response-based, making a medical team available to educational institutions. This includes emergency pre-arrival telephonic instructions from the ER24 24-hour medical helpline.

Emergency preparedness training for staff

Having medics on standby to respond to emergencies is a great advantage. But some emergencies need immediate response and waiting for an ambulance is not an option.

That’s why the programme provides various training options for staff members, Maponya says. Training includes an annual on-site mock drill and CPR demonstration. In addition, there is an option for Level 1 first aid training.

Programmes for schools and universities

ER24’s Scholar Care solutions include Toddler Care, Scholar Care Primary, Scholar Care Secondary, and Campus Care programmes. ER24 also provides a representative to conduct health and safety talks for students and staff.
