ER24 is proud to be the pre-hospital medical partner alongside Mediclinic for the World Rugby U20 Championships 2023 taking place in Cape Town. The tournament will benefit from a full stable of services offered by ER24.

A dedicated emergency number managed by our state-of-the-art ER24 National Emergency Contact Centre has allowed us to pre-populate each team’s hotel, training venue and gym address. Should assistance be required at any of these locations, the address, on-site contact number and GPS coordinates are already captured ensuring real help, real fast, in dispatching resources. The Emergency Contact Centre manages over 50 000 calls for assistance each month and is ideally suited to manage this type of service.

Outside of the tournament, ER24 operational services will respond to and assist with any medical emergency the teams may encounter during their month-long visit in Cape Town.

ER24 Specialised Medical Services Western Cape region will be responsible for field-side medical support alongside Mediclinic Corporate Events on tournament days. Our trained medical staff undertake additional training from World Rugby to ensure anyone assisting any of the patients is providing the universally accepted best practice to ensure the best possible outcome and return to play of any player participating in the tournament. An additional advantage of this training is that these staff members will take the same skills to grassroots, school and club rugby matches and elevate the level of care our rugby players receive.

We wish all the teams participating in the tournament the best of luck!
