When students begin their tertiary education journey away from home, it’s reassuring to know emergency medical assistance is available on campus.
ER24’s Campus Care programme
ER24’s Campus Care programme offers 24-hour emergency medical care – from ambulance services, 24-hour nurse lines and after-hour doctor consults to trauma support and return transfer from hospital.
Emergency transportation when every second counts
Getting patients to the right hospital fast is one of the most important parts of emergency care. If a student has a medical emergency – whether it’s in a dorm, during sports, on a field trip, or while travelling to class – ER24’s Campus Care service is on standby to ensure they’re quickly transported by ambulance to the nearest medical facility. However, it is important to only call an ER24 ambulance when it’s truly needed for medical reasons. This helps avoid wasting resources and money.
Enhanced 24-hour Campus Care medical service
Keeping in mind that not all health issues require emergency medical services, ER24’s Campus Care has been designed to offer students support with all types of health matters.
Our new features assist students with the appropriate medical intervention to ensure every health concern gets the right attention.
Ambulance services
When emergencies happen, the Ambulance Line provides complete emergency response including:
- Pre-arrival instruction. Guidance while help is on the way
- Emergency response. Immediate professional medical intervention
- Stabilisation. Emergency responders stabilise the patient before transportation
- Transportation. Safe, rapid transfer to an appropriate medical facility.
Professional medical guidance
The Nurse Line serves as a first point of contact for medical information and assessment. Experienced nurses help students by:
- Evaluating symptoms and providing medical information or guidance
- Referring to ambulance services when necessary
- Directing them to doctor consultations for non-emergency medical issues after hours
- Connecting them to trauma support when they need psychological help.
Clinical expertise at your fingertips
For more complex medical concerns, the Medical Line connects students directly with clinical associates or doctors after hours. This service provides:
- Professional consultation with qualified clinical associates
- Escalation to doctors when needed
- Expert medical advice for non-emergency health issues
- Treatment recommendations and follow-up guidance.
Mental health crisis intervention
Mental health crises require specialised attention and dedicated Trauma Support services are available. Students who need trauma-related psychological help will receive immediate professional support from trained mental health specialists.
Getting home safely
Recovery doesn't end when medical treatment is complete. The Transport Assistance Line helps students get home safely from medical facilities using an e-hailing service, so they don’t have to worry about their return home.
